Today's oilcloth is a vinyl that is bonded and supported with a woven cotton mesh. Our fabric has been tested and passes the National Fire Protection Agency 701 classification for commercial and residential use.

This fabric is as beautiful as it looked in the pictures.
I only wish it were 60" wide instead of 48". I made a tablecloth, but had to add width, so I had to make 2 long side seams. It's very easy to sew, but the difficulty was in handling the 102" long pieces.
Hints for sewing: Use a size 16 sharp needle and a slightly longer stitch length than the standard. When you're sewing right sides together, the standard presser foot is fine, but when the plastic side is up, a teflon foot helps. I pressed the seams open with a warm iron and pressing cloth and then topstitched the seams. Otherwise, they wouldn't lie flat. I'm not quite through. My next step will be to put a decorative stitch around the edge, so the edges won't curl. Be sure to practice on scraps.
I think it's going to be a great tablecloth. You could also make a shower curtain, cushion covers, or cover outdoor furniture. The colors make this fabric very neutral.
