These machines consistently perform well, get great reviews, and have zero-turn capabilities (basically they can pivot or rotate in place). These run on gasoline or petrol.

Regardless of the mower you choose, there will be repair costs sooner or later. Every mower experiences wear and tear. Figure you'll have to do work on the belts, blades, and motor.

Your mulching deck will probably last the life of the machine. Do be careful of the engine though. Keep it oiled, and don't let gasoline sit unused in the tank. The engine is expensive to replace, so keeping up with maintenance is well worthwhile.

Remember when life was easy? When school let out for the summer, you spent your days catching grasshoppers and trying to build a bridge over the small pond in your neighborhood. And then you realized that your bridge would be much more structurally sound, and most definitely the talk of all your friends, if only you had better building materials rather than settling for your Dad's rusty old nail collection and the brittle twigs you found in your yard. Hmmm, looks like you will be needing some money. Darn.

Then one morning you awaken with a plan so brilliant that it shines brighter than the morning sun shimmering off the glistening dew drops. Okay, that may be a bit of an exaggeration, but your plan definitely shone as brightly as the dim glow from that poor little firefly in the jar on your nightstand. Yes, you need to make some money so you decide to SELL something. Oh, joy! You are a genius, but what can you possibly sell? Hmmm, your little sister? No, that might upset Mom. Hmm, your comic books? What!? Not on your life. Finally I came up with a solution. I, like every other budding young entrepreneur, opened up my very own lemonade stand.

So, after evaluating my resources (Lemonade? Check. Table? Check. Sign? Check.), and doing some extensive research (or at least reading the Peanuts comic strip to see just how Lucy did it), I put my dream into action. I'll admit that finding the capital for my initial start-up was the hardest part of this venture, as my father's frugality makes Ebeneezer Scrooge look philanthropic. But Mom turned out to be pretty good at "resource development" and was able to convince Dad to float me a loan with a good interest rate.

Then, as my pockets overflowed with ambition and borrowed money, I headed towards the store and bought the goods needed to get my start-up started up. I used the powdered lemonade mix because it was very cheap and then I added a little "sha-zam" with 1 slice of lemon on the side of each cup to make it look like the real deal. (At this point I have to wonder whether that involved questionable business ethics or simply good marketing strategy...)

Eager for the start of business the next morning, I arranged cups in perfect rows in my mind while visions of paying customers danced through my head. And, come 7 am, I sprung from my bed and put the finishing touches on my masterpiece. Our rickety old card table never looked so grand as it did that morning, covered by a red checkered tablecloth and boasting those perfectly lined cups I'd envisioned the night before. A bowl of bright yellow lemons to display and of course, my huge "Lemonade 25 cents" outdoor sign completed this delightful glimpse of nostalgic capitalism. And then I waited.

And I waited.

Several cars passed by, and my neighbors smiled and waved. A few bought "pity" cups of refreshing ice-cold lemonade, but obviously, this was not the instantly gratifying cash cow I had predicted. I needed more traffic, I needed a way to get people to see my lovely refreshment stand in all its glory...because I was going to have to pay my dad back. With more determination than ever, I reviewed my previous research (read the funnies again) and concluded that Lucy's signs were much better than mine. She had interchangeable sign parts for adjusting prices to reflect the highly delicate balance of supply and demand. And she had moveable parts for announcing the open and close of business (I gathered this from the "the doctor is in/out" signs from her secondary psychiatry business).

I knew what had to be done so I got busy right away, measuring and snipping away with Mom's best sewing shears (not knowing they were only for fabric...) until I had transformed that boring old tablecloth into four stunning achievements of advertising wizardry. Each beautiful sign became a replica of my lemonade stand - the bright white upper half of my outdoor signage still boldly announced "lemonade 25 cents" as the bottom half was dressed in the flowing tablecloth to recreate the shape of my table. Two carefully placed metal rods became the table legs as well as the stakes for sticking my signs into the ground on strategic high-traffic intersections of our neighborhood. I cut slits in the bottom of my bright red plastic cups so I could attach them to the top of my custom outdoor signs to look like the inviting drink was sitting right on top of my table/sign. This 3-dimensional component of my sign also featured a huge arrow that pointed viewers right to my refreshing lemonade stand.

And like they always say, "the rest is history." I was able to pay my dad back in no time and I even bought Mom a new pair of sewing shears. The creek, however, never was successfully spanned in a way that could support the weight of anyone heavier than a pitcher of ice-cold lemonade. (I guess it's fortunate that I stuck with marketing and advertising rather than engineering.)

Business trends come and go, but there are some "signs" of success that we can always count on: creativity, innovation, ambition, and ingenuity.

When painting inside or out you will have the choice of not only using chemical based paints a lot of which contain high levels of toxins, but also natural based paints which are not only better for the environment, but they are healthier for you and, believe it or not, better for your home allowing the building to breathe. Chemical Based Paints

Although natural paints work out more expensive to buy, because of the antistatic qualities the paint repels dust and bacteria which keeps their true colour longer. The most popular, readily available natural paints are emulsion, clay paints and casein paint. All are easily applied in the same way as conventional paint and by experimenting with the pigments you can increase the colour range.

Natural emulsion gives a matt finish. You can also get paints that are washable for heavy wear areas and apply a clear glaze for extra protection. Clay paint emulsion can be used on walls and ceilings and is a good choice for lighter colours and, again, creates a breathable surface. Casein paints come in powder form to be mixed before application. They dry with a soft matt chalky finish and is washable - very suitable for childrens' bedrooms and nurseries. For outside walls silicate paint, linseed oil paint or an old favourite, limewash can be used.

Wallpaper

Vinyl wallpaper is not paper but plastic and other wallpapers come from virgin forest. Ideally wallpaper should have FSC logo (Forestry Stewardship Council) or be recycled although this may prove somewhat elusive in normal DIY stores although it should be fairly easy to find lining paper with the FSC logo.

How to Measure Tables For Tablecloths

I have been in the tablecloth industry selling to all types of facilities for over 10 years, such as, party rental stores, hotels, restaurants, caterers, banquet halls, churches and anyone else who uses dining facilities.

Most know how to measure for tablecloths but for those that don't this is how to measure for round, square and rectangle tables.

Rectangle tables are generally in 3 lengths 48, 72 and 96 inches long and are referred to as banquet tables and 6-ft or 8-ft tables as the most used. While the average table is 30 inches wide some vary with widths of 18, 24 and 36. Square tables would follow the same formula.

Now you need to determine your facilities' need for a drop, which there is no standard. How the tablecloth needs to look on the table is personal and by choice. Some want the cloth to cover just the top with a little drop others want it to go to the floor. A general guideline is 10" to the lap, 15" to the bottom of the chair or halfway down the table and 30" is to the floor, if in fact the table measures 30" high. Although nursing facilities only want a 4" drop to accommodate wheelchairs. Note any cloth that goes to the floor should have rounded corners to avoid jutting out and creating a means to have someone trip.

Once you determine what drop is best for your facility then you need to add that measurement to the table measurements. For example your table measures 30x72x30, which means width, length (table top on both and height. You want a 10 inch drop you would add as follows 10+10+30= 50 and 10+10+72= 92 so the tablecloth you need is 50x92, now some companies only offer standard sizes so go up to a 54x96 if you cannot get the exact size you need.

This formula work for all tables for rounds you would add the drop of 10" to the diameter. Example 60" round or 60R add 10+10+60= 80 round or 80R cloth.

For measuring skirting, Determine whether you want to cover 3 or 4 sides then add the table measurements, 4 sides of a 6-ft banquet. 30+30+72+72= 204 inches then convert to feet or 17-ft. For 3 sides 30+30+72= 132 inches or 11-ft. Many vendors require skirting is purchased in increments of 2 this is because skirting is cut the length of goods and not width and most fabrics are wider than 60 inches.

To measure skirting for round skirting take the circumference of the table and times by pie then divide by 12 5 x 3.14 = 15.7 or 16ft of skirting.

Always take into consideration whether your tables have squared or rounded corners as 1/4" may make a difference in how tablecloths lie on the table.

Ask if your vendor if you measured correctly but most manufacturers won't recommend a drop as this is your decision and ultimately your responsibility if the cloths don't fit. So learning what your facility needs or how the cloths should look and how to measure will insure you correct fitting tablecloths.

Wherever you choose to have the wedding ceremony -- a church, temple, non-denominational justice of the peace chambers -- make sure you book the date and time you want/need for the wedding. If you need any special equipment, like a chupah (ceremonial canopy) for a Jewish wedding, make certain that it will be available. Ask about prices and see if you can cut a deal considering the short notice.

4. Book a house

Finding it difficult to book a reception in so little time? Have it at a relative's house. Chances are that you are getting married in one of your hometowns (if you don't share the same one) or current place of residence. What better way to save money on a banquet hall than by having the reception at the home of someone you know? Just make sure that it is large enough to accommodate all of your guests, food, cake, music, and gifts. If you prefer, you can even have the wedding ceremony at the house, as well.

5. Find a wholesale florist

Search for a local wholesale florist. Not only do they generally have many people working for them (meaning they can get large orders filled in little time), but since they get their supplies wholesale you will get a better price. Are you allergic to real flowers? Have them make fake bouquets. 6. Plan the menu and do it yourself

If you can't afford a photographer, you probably have a friend who takes awesome pictures. Have them make the memories of your wedding. If there are family photos and such that you want, make sure you let them know. Get someone whom you know is famous for their goodies to make the cake. It may not be the five-tier cake that you dreamed about when you were ten, but it will be special just the same. If you are lucky, you have a friend who specializes in cake decorating who can build your five-tier dream. Use a small boom box for music at the ceremony and just have someone push the buttons. Make CD mixes of the songs you want in the order you want them. Supply the person with a list of what to play when and leave it to them. Have the same person bring the boom box to the reception house so that you can have your wedding party intros, first dance, etc.

Camping Checklist and Camping Essentials

One of the most difficult things about getting ready for camping is getting organized and trying to remember what gear to bring. I have been using this list for over 15 years- modifying it slightly here and there. Its amazing how little camping has changed. Even when you add children to the mix the stuff to bring doesn't change all that much. Over the years we have found that it is actually easier to keep most of this packed up and set aside for camping. So we have a bin filled with things like table cloth for picnic table, tablecloth clamps, can opener, corkscrew, cutlery, etc. Everything we need is there and we don't have to worry about packing. Preparing Your Work Area For Reborning

Preparation of the area you are using to create your reborn dolls is essential. Organisation is the key to being prepared for every step of the reborning process. You will need a large table or flat working surface to place your mixing plates, brushes and paints. The surface area needs to be free of clutter and covered with a vinyl tablecloth that can be easily wiped over with a wet cloth for cleaning. A dowel rod board is also an important tool to have for drying and baking your limbs. Creating this board is easy. At your local hardware, you will be able to purchase a board of timber approximately 40cm by 10cm, and a dowel rod with a thickness of around 1cm. Cut the dowel into four pieces 15cm in width and evenly spaced across the board, standing up with a gap between each of around 8cm. Glue into  position and add a nail into the base of the board from the underside to hold the dowel in place. Be aware of this area when taking it out of the oven, the nail heads will be hot.

This board will serve you well as a stable rack to hold your limbs between layers, and will keep the limbs from touching each other when heatsetting your paint. Your brushes and paint need to be easily accessible and visible when mixing your colours. Having these displayed at close proximity to your work area will enable you to mix your paint quickly and keep the blend flowing. Always have a substantial supply of toothpicks, cotton tips, tissues and sponges. These are constantly used during the reborning process to remove unwanted detail or lighten heavy effects in your paint. Having them close at hand is crucial when adding detail to creased areas. If you are working in the same area as your oven, you will need to open windows and doors to make sure you have airflow. Depending on the kit you use, sometimes the fumes can give you a slight headache. Fresh air is essential. Once you have finished your heatsetting it is recommended that you turn your oven up to a high heat to burn off any fumes that may be lingering.  Reborning is a relaxing and very addictive pastime. Having the right area to create your reborns will add to the pleasure of the craft, and keep you organised at the same time.

Decorating Your Kitchen With A 1940's Retro Theme

These days kitchen décor comes in all colors, sizes and eras. One fun way to decorate your kitchen is with a bit of 1940's nostalgia. Painted cabinets, glass knobs, and vintage linens combined with new appliances that have a retro look can give you a unique and functional kitchen.

You can get a great 1940's look without spending a bundle and still be able to fill your kitchen with some nice collectibles. Here's some ideas on how you can get a 1940's look in your kitchen.

Colors

Some popular colors from this era include jadeite and a red and white theme. You can find plenty of vintage accents to fill your kitchen for either one of these color schemes. Why not start a collection of jadeite that you can display in open cabinets as well as use for dishware? You can jazz the place up with vintage wooden handle gadgets that are painted jadite and cream. If you are going for the red and white theme, there are plenty of red vintage kitchen ware gadgets out there and vintage linens can really perk up the place. Another advantage of the red and white theme is you can also add in a fruit theme on top of it like apples or strawberries.

I would leave the walls a neutral color - white of off white so that it does not detract from all
your great accessories. Linoleum flooring in a checkerboard pattern would be perfect.
Some color coordinated throw rugs can add a bit of color to the floor and pull it all together.

Lighting

Simple lighting is best. You can buy vintage ceiling lights and wall sconces if you want a
really authentic look. Of course you'll want to make sure you have enough task
lighting so some modern lights will have to be worked in. I suggest you make them as subtle as possible so they don't look out of place.

Window Treatments

Use vintage curtains for your windows. You can buy them with complimentary colors and great patterns.
If you can't find curtains make some out of vintage dish towels or tablecloths - you can buy tablecloths that have stains in 1 area pretty cheaply and then just use the good area for the curtains! If you are going with a red and white 1940's kitchen decorating theme, you might want to pick either cherries or apples as a secondary theme and look for curtains with those fruits in the motif.

Furniture

Glass knobs will really jazz up your furniture and cabinets and add an authentic vintage look. If you have painted cabinets in either white or cream, try the green glass knobs. Your table and chairs should either be a chrome vintage style dinette (you can buy these new and you can still get vintage ones as well), or a vintage wooden style table with enamel top. If you can't find either of these, you can buy any type table and hide it with a vintage tablecloth.

Accessories

Accessories for 1940's style kitchens can be found in antique malls as well as bought brand new.
Soften up the room by hanging vintage tablecloths and tea towels around. Chrome appliances go well with this look as do the retro style appliances you can buy brand new these days. And don't forget the vintage
breadbox and canisters - every kitchen had them on the counter and you can choose from chrome
or enamel in cream and green, or red and white to complete your look.

You can always ask your mom and mother-in-law what they've saved from their 'Peace and Love' days. You never know what you'll discover. Style the girls' hair in braids and/or headbands and put on a fashion show that would have made Sony and Cher proud.

If you have extra time and the girls have extra energy, create a relay race with this clothing. Divide the girls into two equal teams. The first two girls on separate teams will start by donning the clothes and running across to their teammates. They will remove the clothes and the first teammate on the new side will don the clothing and run back until all team members have had their turn. Whichever team finishes first, wins.

For a fun cake idea, make a simple circle cake. Decorate with bright yellow frosting and add black eyes and smiley face for a flashback to the 60's smiley face. You can also create a cake with Yin and Yang symbols or one with the Peace symbol.

A Super Mario Bros Birthday Party - Games and Fun For Everyone

Mario Bros. Party Ideas are so popular right now. What is it with the Super Mario Bros? My kids are just crazy about them, so crazy in fact, that they want to have a Super Mario Bros. Birthday Party. Of course, being the wonderful Mom I am, I said Yes!

Now I am on a hunt to find the party supplies I need. I want a party pack that has just about everything I need in it already. I think they call it the Ultimate...well, that's the one I want. This party is going to be the Ultimate in my house this year, so I may as well make it good.

I hate to admit it, but even I play the Mario Bros. video games when everyone else is at school or work. Don't tell them, though. I don't want anyone else to know. I play on an old Nintendo game console I have. It is hooked up to the TV in my bedroom. I only have a couple games for it, but they are the only games I want. I have Jaws...remember that one? I have Super Mario Bros. and I have Centipede. I also have the roller ball attachment to use when I play Centipede. So, there you have it, the secret confessions of a video game addicted mother. Who also happens to be planning a Super Mario Bros. birthday party.

Back to party planning. I have my party guest list already and know that there will be about 14 kids at this party. I just counted the supplies in my Ultimate party pack and realized I will have to order two of them. It's okay though. I still want to do all my party supply shopping in one quick swoop and that is why I am just going to order two of the Ultimate Super Mario Bros. party packages. I might have some duplicate items, but if there are some unopened left overs I can re-sell them on Ebay. Someone will scoop them up if I under price them. This way someone gets a bargain and I get a little bit of my money back instead of letting the extra items just sit here until I throw them out.

I will need some games, so I figured I would fill up some 16 oz soda bottles with sand and paint them in bright colors. Add a big ball for the kids to roll and I just made a Super Mario Bros. Bowling set. The kids will love this and I can make two or three of them the way we go through those 16 ounce sodas. I always have lots of empties in my recycling bin. Bowling is a great outdoor party game for the kids. I can even make it an outdoor relay game. That makes it a little bit more exciting. We can have the kids form two teams, The Marios and The Luigis. Each team has to line up at the start line and one player at a time has to run across the yard to the bowling set. Roll the bowling ball at the colored pins. My husband will have to be at the bowling pin area with my sister. It will be their job to count the pins knocked down by each team and reset the pins for the next player. The team that knocks down the most pins will be the winner!

I think I will make everyone at the party should have a Mario mustache. I can paint them on as the kids arrive. I think that will make for some hilarious party pictures! There are some really gentle face paints you can buy that are safe for kids and I think the kids will get a real kick out of this face painting idea. I might even give myself one.

I think I am having more fun planning this Super Mario Bros. birthday party than the kids are going to have at it...and they are going to have a blast.

Back to my Super Mario Bros. Party supplies. I will get plates, cups, forks, spoons, napkins, a tablecloth, latex and mylar balloons, ribbons, streamers, dessert plates, thank you notes, confetti and candles plus some activity placemats. And that is only the beginning. I will also get party favor boxes that are decorated with Super Mario Bros. designs and the favors to put in them. The favors are Super Mario Bros. notepad, sticker sheets, temporary tattoos, crayons, noise putty and a glow star. My Ultimate party box also has a pinata with the fillers to put in it, some Super Mario sports bottles, sour candy in mushroom shaped candy tins. I would say that is everything I will need. In fact, I may have an extra pinata and some filler for Ebay.

Now for a few more game ideas. How about an outdoor three legged race. Let's see if the Marios or the Luigis win this relay race. I like relay races and I think the kids do too. There are also games like Mario Says or Pin the Mustache on the Mario Bros. or even a Mario version of Charades you can arrange for the kids.

I am going to save the favor boxes for the end of the party and let the kids go home with them. This way everyone will be in a good mood and they won't be able to wait til they get home to check out the party favors. Of course, I am going to send home the Mario Bros. sports cups with each child too. Now I better start my party shopping so I can get this party plan moving.

The next thing you should do is move to stretching your abdomen, lower back, and hips. These stretches can be crucial if you spend a lot of time in an office.

Next, focus on stretching your chest, neck, arms, and shoulders. It is important to stretch again after your workout as well. Post workout stretches are something that far too many of us tend to neglect, but there's every reason in the world to consider doing this and doing it consistently. Your muscles need to be stretched out after they've been worked or you may risk injury.

Be sure to keep a routine with you workout as well. Remember, stretching before and after a workout can help prevent injuries as well as help you feel great.
